Our technology
Our systems monitor the metabolism and morphology of cellular models. The metabolism is examined via cellular respiration and extracellular acidification; morphology is investigated via impedance monitoring.
This in vitro measurement of the functions and activities of life or of living matter (as organs, tissues, or cells) and of the physical and chemical phenomena involved on a very small (micrometer) scale is called microphysiometry.
Our history
2007: cellasys GmbH is founded as spin-off of Technical University of Munich (TUM) with the cooperate objective: Research, development, production, sales, and maintenance of cell-based systems and applications, as well as advice regarding their applications, commissioning and utilization.
2008: IMOLA-IVD is CE marked as in-vitro diagnostic medical device.
2011: cellasys is certified according to ISO 9001:2008 for: Design and Development, Production, Distribution of Biochips for Cell Culture Techniques.
2011: cellasys is certified according to ISO 13485:2003 / AC 2009 for: Design and Development, Production, Distribution, Servicing and Installation of Cell-Based Assays for in-vitro Diagnostic use.
2013: cellasys is partner in the EU-funded NextFactory project: All-in-one manufacturing platform for system in package and micromechatronic systems.
2015: cellasys is partner in the Germany (BMBF) funded BIOGRAPHY project: High resolution roll-to-roll printing of biocompatible graphene/protein multilayers for biomedical applications.
2018: cellasys publishes a Skin-on-a-Chip and a Liver-on-a-Chip.
2020: cellasys is partner in Germany (BMBF) funded AMeLie project: New Advanced Systems Engineering methods for development processes based on product examples from medical technology and life sciences.
2020: cellasys presents the showcase Tissue-on-a-Chip.
2021: The cellasys #8 assay is introduced.
2023: Management-buy-out and transfer to cellasys know-how UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
